Our Ministries
Bellamy's Educational Opportunities Our
year-long Sunday School program supports classes for all ages, beginning with four year-olds and including a college-age class
and four adult classes. An attended nursery is provided for children through three years old during both worship services
and Sunday School. Worship bags are available for children during the worship services. During the 11:00 worship
service we have a Junior Church program for children ages three through five. We have many other opportunities during
the year. Our confirmation program is available for anyone over 12 years of
age. We have a Sunday School Christmas Program and an Egg Hunt and Easter Celebration. Disciple I, II, III, and
IV classes are offered beginning each fall, depending upon class interest. Other shorter term day-time and evening Bible
studies are also available. Our week-long Vacation Bible School is usually in June. For
more information on any of the programs, please contact the church office at 804-694-5142 or office@bellamyumc.org.
Stephen Ministry Stephen Ministry is a program that equips lay persons in our congregation
to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those experiencing all kinds of life needs, both in our congregation
and in the community. Stephen Ministry works in conjunction with the pastor to help a person talk through crises in
his or her life. You might consider receiving a Stephen Minister if you have been hospitalized, terminally ill, grieving
a death or loss, having a job crisis, facing a life transition or dealing with aging and the elderly. Stephen Ministers have received 50 hours of initial training in important
caring ministry skills. They visit another person regularly and offer Christian support and care. Confidentiality
is of the utmost importance during the caring relationship. Stephen Ministers participate in regular support and supervision
to give the best possible care. This is a vital
ministry in our church that enables our entire congregation to grow as a warm, loving , nurturing community where people are
cherished. "Encourage
one another and build one another up." I
